About Frosty

Where to start…? Our very own resident legend!

Frosty was born in 2012 on the streets of Ermoupoli and was found and rescued in October 2018. We had to take him because, adding to poor state of health, as a white cat he is very susceptible to the harsh Greek sun. Sadly he had very burnt ears that needed treating, as well as having teeth removed (he actually only has one left – not that it bothers him).

Not the easiest patient when he arrived, he outright refused to have sunscreen on his ears, and the sun damage became so bad  he had to have both ears amputated (hence the baby seal look!). He had to wear a harness and stay in the shade so as to ensure no further damage, this also helped to avoid him displaying dominance and fighting with all the other cats to show them who’s boss. He still thinks’ he’s top cat although he has mellowed significantly in the last few years, although he still has his moments with his mortal enemy Pumpkin!

Sadly Frosty was diagnosed in 2022 with chronic renal insufficiency, and the vet told us he had six months to live… But we are happy to report that Frosty has so far proved them wrong ! He’s still around, living a happy life, eating renal food, having subcutaneous fluids regularly to help his kidney function, and a bunch of food supplements he doesn’t really like but really seem to work !

We think he’s aware he’s a white cat, as when he has a choice between colored and a white bedding, he tends to settle on the white one and blend in like a frosty ninja!
